Artifacts is excited to announce its First Annual Area Rug Design Competition. This competition is part of Artifacts’ mission to promote interest in the textile arts and to encourage student involvement in the design community.

Students from Salt Lake Community College, LDS Business College, BYU Idaho, Weber State and Utah State Interior Design programs are invited to apply their knowledge and creativity to design fresh, interesting and marketable area rugs. This competition provides an opportunity for design students to see their work translated into a finished textile and add the experience to their portfolio.

Entries must be submitted in full color renderings - either hand-drawn and colored or computer-aided. Designs must be able to be feasiblely reproduced in an area rug. Entries can be any size and submitted on any type of paper. Designs must be the original work of the design student. A Competition Agreement must be signed by each entrant. One entry per person.
