PURPOSE

To acknowledge and reward outstanding achievement by a continuing student of Interior Design enrolled in an accredited program at selected area colleges and universities, in memory of Bert Vieta.

SELECTION PROCESS

• Participating Intermountain area schools include Utah State University, Brigham Young University/Idaho, Weber State University, Salt Lake Community College and LDS Business College
• School to be honored is chosen on a rotating basis each year.
• Winner is then nominated by faculty recommendation based on the following criteria:
• Continuing Freshman, Sophomore or Junior
• Superior academic achievement
• Leadership qualities
• Creativity & ability

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

• Winner will be announced at the Design Awareness Awards Banquet; March 24, 2005
• Winner will receive a cash award
• Winner will receive a personalized, engraved crystal trophy
• Winner will be featured on the Design Awareness Foundation website
