Utah Style & Design Magazine and Scot Zimmerman Photography present this award to recognize and reward the outstanding work by a talented interior designer on a single residential project.

The winning project will be professionally photographed by renowned photographer Scot Zimmerman and stylized by Utah Style & Design editor Brad Mee. The resulting images will be presented to the winner for his/her portfolio and will be published in Utah Style & Design magazine or featured on its Web site. Winner will be announced on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at the Design Awareness Anniversary Celebration held at the Grand America Hotel. Winner must be present to win.

CRITERIA

The judges will award the internship based upon creative, academic, and leadership accomplishments as demonstrated by a portfolio submission, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation from faculty, and a one-page biography.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicant must be a professional interior designer whose work is represented by the project entered.
  • Entry must be a single residential project consisting of at least three separate spaces within the home. Submitted materials to show a minimum of three spaces and a maximum of eight.
  • Project must be located in Utah, Southern Idaho, or Western Wyoming and must exist as they appear in entry photographs.
  • Homeowner must consent to the entry, to having the home photographed, and to its being published by Utah Style & Design magazine and/or posted on its Web site.
  • Entries to be postmarked by February 29, 2005 and received by March 7, 2005.
  • Submissions to include:
    • Completed entry form including permission section from the homeowner stating the project may be entered, photographed, and published.
    • A typed page describing the project's scope—location, style, inspiration, client's requirements, square footage.
    • Layout/floorplan, challenges, approximate budget, and unique features.
    • A single set of prints or color copies representing the residential project. The photographs should represent a minimum of three separate interior spaces within the home and a maximum of eight. Images will not be returned.
