To recognize and reward a talented designer and encourage innovative, distinctive design in a residential space.
CRITERIA
Submitted projects will be originality of the design solution and the successful integration of interior finishes and furnishings while exhibiting good principles of design. Must be present to receive award.
AWARD / RECOGNITION
- Winner will be announced at the Design Awareness Event in Salt Lake City
on March 24, 2005.
- Winning project will be featured on the Design Awareness website.
- Winner will receive an engraved crystal award.
- Winner will receive a $1000 cash award OR Lisman Richardson Interior Design will fund all expenses related to studying for, taking and passing the NCIDQ exam, up to $1000.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Project must have been completed in 2004 and installation must have been in the western United States.
- Project must be a single residential room, completed as part of an extensive remodel or under new construction. Multiple rooms from a single project may be submitted
separately
under independent entry packets.
- Project must exemplify excellence of design by reflecting functionality, originality, comfort and skillful execution.
- Applicant must be a professional interior designer. If more than one designer worked on the project, it is the responsibility of the team members to select entrant and method of distributing the award. Employees of Lisman Richardson Interior Design are ineligible to participate.
- Entries must be postmarked by February 15, 2005.

- An entry fee of $20 must accompany each entry. Make checks payable to the Salt Lake Design Awareness Foundation.
- A completed entry form must be included with each submission.
- Entries will be returned with the inclusion of addressed, postage paid envelope.
- The decision of the judges is final. If, in the opinion of the judges, no entry meets the criteria of the competition, no award will be made.
SUBMISSION MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN A BINDER OR PRESENTATION FOLDER:
- Completed entry form and entry fee.
- A one-page typed statement describing the scope of the project to include the client's criteria, the designer's solutions, square footage, approximate budget, and identification of any custom features.
- A floor plan indicating the furniture placement.
- Four to six color photographs of the completed project. Photos should represent different views of the room and close-up details as needed to illustrate finishes or furnishings. Photos should be presented in plastic sleeves and should be a minimum of 3x5 and a maximum of 8x10.
- A floppy disc or CD containing the submitted photographs in digital format (JPEG). Minimum size: 600 x 400 pixels.
